Xining to Xi’an Tour—Old Silk Road Culture

Travel Schedule:
Day 1: All the guests arrive in Xining, airport pickup to Xining vehicle administration office to apply for driving permits. Dinner banquet to welcome our guests.
Day 2: A local museum visit in the morning, pick up the driving permits and motorcycles and a short ride to Ta’er Buddhist temple site, 35km. Ta’er temple is one of the six biggest Tibetan Buddhist temples. Return to Xining for dinner.
Day 3: Leave Xining in the morning, pass Laji mountain and visit Qinghai Lake, stay at black horse river for the night, 234km.
Qinghai Lake is the biggest salt water lake in China.
Day 4: Black horse river to Xining on the Northern side of Qinghai lake. 320km.
Day5: Xining to Xiahe, visit Labrang monastery. Labrang Monastery is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism and is home to the largest number of monks outside the Tibet Autonomous Region. 250km.
Day 6: Xiahe to Longxi Xian, 286km.
Day 7: Longxi to Tianshui, home of Maiji mountain Buddha grottoes 190km. Visit Maiji shan Buddha grottoes.
Day 8: Tianshui to Xi’an, 367km.
Day 9: Two days in Xi’an, visit old city wall, Grand Mosque, Drum and Bell towers, Moslem quarter and watch the night view of Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.
Day 10: Xi’an to Huashan Mountain, visit the terra-cotta warriors along the way. Stay in Huayin, 140km.
Day 11: Huayin to Xianyang, Yuanjia village. The typical Shaanxi Guanzhong culture in Yuanjia village. 170km.
Day 12: Yuanjia village to Pingliang. Visit KongTong mountain which are sacred to Taoism and location of the mythical meeting place of the Yellow Emperor and Guangchengzi, an immortal. 260km.
Day 13: Pingliang to Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province and the first crossing of the Yellow River. 321km.
Day 14: Lanzhou to Xining. 225km. Farewell dinner.

Minimum 6 riders/ maximum 12 riders per group. An exception to this will be if a group of friends, or social club greater than 12 riders and pillions feel free to discuss with us and we will make necessary arrangements for extra support vehicle/s and staff if required. Get a group of friends together and talk to us about a group discount.
This journey can also be done as a self drive 4WD tour. POA as prices vary depending on the number of traveling guests. It is highly recommended that each group take a local guide. Food,salary and accommodation costs for guide will be provided by the Renter.
